On September 27, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Australian Office, and Nuffield International (NI) jointly hosted the "Taiwan-Australia Nuffield International Young Farmer Dialogue" in Taipei. For the first time, Nuffield Australia (NA) focused its agricultural scholarship program on studying Taiwan's agricultural development. The dialogue brought together 13 international participants and outstanding Taiwanese farmers, including Shennong Award winners, Top 100 Young Farmers, Agricultural Youth Ambassadors, and 4-H Club Association representatives. The initiative aimed to connect Taiwan’s young farmers with international public-private agricultural talent networks, while also expanding the horizons for Taiwan-Australia agricultural collaboration.
To enhance the Nuffield delegation's understanding of Taiwan's agricultural, fishery, and livestock technology and research developments, as well as to strengthen supply chain network connections, the group visited various public and private agricultural sites. The visits focused on themes such as "sustainable agriculture and environmental protection," "agricultural technology innovation and value-added applications," and "agricultural diversification and resilience." Key stops included the Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute, Wufeng Farmers’ Association Winery, K.K. Orchard, Homoo Seafood, JJ Greenhouse, YesHealth, Tai Yi Ecological Leisure Farm, Dakeng Leisure Farm, and the Youshan Tea Cultural Center. These visits aimed to further promote agricultural business exchanges and trade opportunities between Taiwan and Australia.
