Introduction
Located in Touwu Township, Miaoli County, the water source comes from Xindian River, Shitan Township. It was the first rolling style earth dam planned, designed and constructed locally in Taiwan. Construction started in 1954 and was completed in 1959. The water shed area is 61.08 square kilometer, the full water level is 61 meters above sea level, and effective water storage capacity currently 12.45 million cubic meters. It mainly supplies water for agriculture, daily household use, industry and tourism in Miaoli. It is a multi-purpose reservoir.
