Introduction
Huludun Canal is an ancient canal. It was established in the 11th year of the reign of Qing Emperor Yongzheng (1733 AD). Because of the early development of canals, the irrigation system constructed lateral canals and sub-lateral canals that were intertwined. More than 5,100 hectares of fertile land have been irrigated, and the drainage system is connected at all levels, making Huludun Plain a major source of grain in Taichung. The canal water nourishes and nurtures all things. As a result of Hulu Canal, Taichung Basin developed a diverse culture and numerous talented individuals.
