Introduction
Xindingpitou Canal is located on the upper reaches of the Jiudingpitou Canal, and the water shed area has 883 hectares. In addition, two check gates are set up for irrigation, with an irrigation area of 81.25 hectares. It has been 53 years since the second check gate was completed. However, due to the aging of the gates and structural facilities, it has become a flood diversion bottleneck on the upper reaches of the river with flood constrictions. Faced with heavy rain and typhoons, drainage in this area is problematic and the embankment has broken several times. Residents and elected representatives from various parties have repeatedly complained and about the existing drainage channels and check gates have been improved to facilitate smoother drainage and ensure the safety of people's property. This project won the 2019 Annual Excellent Agricultural Construction Award.
