Introduction
Zhoumei Rubber Dam is located 230 meters downstream of Shuangxi Bridge at the intersection of Chengde Road Section 6 and Waishuang River in Taipei City. It serves an anti-tide function by retaining and storing the upstream water source of Waishuang River and blocking the backflow of the Keelung River downstream. It plays a key role in diverting water for irrigation and flood control of farmland in the Zhoumei and Shipai areas. The reconstruction of the rubber dam was completed in July 2013. The dam is 40m long, with the right bank set with a semi-corn-shaped structure stepped fishpass, and the left bank with regulating box culverts, water gates and a water control management room.
