Introduction
Xinfu Canal Pond No. 1, also known as Touliao Pond, was expanded and renovated in 1956 to form 19-hectare Touliao Pond. The pond Land God is the local Land God named Pilun who is the Settlement Land God in Touliao area. When the pond was being constructed, local villagers asked the Pilun Land God to move elsewhere, but he refused. Later, they reached a consensus with the deity and a circular cement artificial island was built in Touliao Pond. The quaint Land God Hall is surrounded by the pond and has since been called the "Water Land God."
